As a 27 year old I have mostly negative feelings about the oversexualized musicians of today’s music mostly because it feels that almost ALL female stars now have to sell their bodies in order to sell the music. It doesn’t matter how talented they are, the music industry will be a lot less likely to give them a chance if they don’t agree to being sexualized. And that’s why it feels anti-feminist to me— feminist is about women having a CHOICE about what they do with their bodies, and it doesn’t feel like female pop/rap/rnb stars have a choice these days, if they want to make it big.
